Improved mental health

Playing and having fun are great ways  to  simply break down boundaries and to experiment with different roles safely, without judgement or criticism. The time spent in our structured sessions  exploring  how characters feel and think will help  to promote empathy and  reflection which is crucial to positive self awareness.

Confidence and collaboration

We actively encourage students to work  with  respect through listening   to each other and being courteous.   Our commitment to inclusion enables all children   the same opportunities  to shine. Even if you consider your  child to be  typically shy and quiet you will see that  soon feel more confident sharing ideas and participating in the structured play, perhaps initially alongside another adult or child  before eventually ceasing chances to take centre stage.

Language, Communication and Speech

We utilise movement, and music as well as carefully selected games to support children as they individually discover and process their unique imaginative ability

We use a range of exercises to promote awareness of diction, pitch, intonation and volume to  help support  confident speakers. In addition to this, our  Peekaplayers will learn how posture and  facial expression can contribute to story telling. We promote a wide use of vocabulary as well as correct the  pronunciation of words.

Concentration, Commitment  and Discipline

Our specially considered programme  subtly encourages listening to instructions as well as gathering skills incrementally to build on week by week.. This  requires students to value patience, determination  and focus all of which can be applied to numerous  aspects of their everyday lives.

Peekaplayers is an inclusive drama and storytelling programme. We combine. creative and imaginative elements of play together with the structure and purpose of story telling to create a meaningful education for children. We utilise movement, and music as well as carefully selected games to support children as they individually discover and process their unique imaginative ability.
